Everton rule out Jack Grealish for Coventry fixture
The on-loan midfielder misses a third straight game after a disciplinary breach, while David Moyes is hopeful over Jarrad Branthwaite.
Jack Grealish will not play for Everton against Coventry City in the Premier League on Friday, the club have confirmed. The on-loan Manchester City midfielder has now sat out the Toffees' last two matches, both against Newcastle, in the Carabao Cup and the league, after breaching club discipline.
Manager David Moyes, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, said the England international would not feature against the Sky Blues at Hill Dickinson Stadium. "No, Jack is not available," Moyes said. "I wouldn't give you the plan but we will be working with Jack again soon."
Everton have offered little beyond a statement that the 31-year-old was not match-fit before Monday's win at St James' Park. Asked whether the international break might let the club settle the matter, Moyes added: "We just need to wait and see how things go."
Moyes is hopeful that defender Jarrad Branthwaite will be available for the Coventry game, having withdrawn him late on Monday with cramp. He said the club are nursing the defender along and need to check how he is.
The Coventry fixture at Hill Dickinson Stadium is Everton's next assignment in the Premier League, with Grealish's return pushed back at least one more match.
