Gyeongnam and Hwaseong have met many times, and the home side usually comes away smiling at their own ground. This time, though, Hwaseong have risen to be the higher-placed team in the table, with several more points, and are fully in the hunt for a playoff spot, while Gyeongnam still need to collect points for comfort in mid-table. Gyeongnam have gone five games without a win, their attack is laboured and finishing is difficult; the latest 1-3 defeat reflected the same old problems. Hwaseong have not been especially hot in their last five either, but their overall season is clearly better: they average more than one and a half goals per game and concede fewer than their rivals in the same competition. This game is likely to open with both sides cautious; the first half may end level or with a single goal, but in the second half Hwaseong, with superior attacking quality, will gradually push the game and find more chances to score. The pattern therefore leans toward the away side, who will hold more of the ball and finish more sharply.
