Kane signs new Bayern Munich contract until 2029
The England captain commits his future to Bayern Munich, ending speculation over a deal that had entered its final 12 months.
Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that runs until 2029, the club has confirmed. The agreement replaces a four-year deal that had entered its final 12 months, following his £86m move from Tottenham in 2023.
Kane scored 73 goals in 65 matches in the 2025-26 season and was named the world's best male player at the Ballon d'Or ceremony last month. He said he feels right at home at FC Bayern. "I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich," he added.
Kane said his whole family is very happy in Munich and that he was keen to stay. He joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur three years ago and ended his personal trophy drought by winning the Bundesliga in 2025 and 2026.
He also became the player to reach 100 goals in the German top flight in the fewest games, doing so in just 98 appearances. For England, he matched the record held by Peter Shilton since 1990 for the most caps after a 125th appearance against Czechia, and stands as his country's top goalscorer with 91 goals.
FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer said what began as a major transfer has become a special chapter in the club's history. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said the club is delighted to have successfully extended Kane's contract.
Board member for sport Max Eberl said the key extension gives Bayern certainty in its planning. Sporting director Christoph Freund added that with Kane the club has the Ballon d'Or winner on the pitch.
