Michael Carrick said Manchester United are showing signs of development after they came from behind to beat Roma. The head coach, who is 44, saw progress in a side that had gone 10 matches without a win.

Carrick said: "We're showing signs of development." He added that the team's next steps rest with the players themselves. "Nothing has been achieved yet," he said.

The 3-2 win over Roma in the UEFA Champions League league phase on 3 Nov was United's first in 10 matches. Carrick's side had trailed before turning the game around.

Carrick also confirmed that Carlos Baleba will be out for several weeks with a hamstring injury. The new midfielder picked up the problem in the match against Roma. Carrick said: "We still don't know exactly, but it's probably several weeks."

Baleba will not return during the international break, Carrick said. United's next match is against Aston Villa in the Premier League on 8 Nov.
